Actor Rajesh Dhruva recently embarked on the journey of learning to play the chenda melam, a traditional percussion instrument of Kerala. It took him 15 days to master the instrument. Rajesh, known for his role in the Kannada film Shri Balaji Photo Studio, has now teamed up with director Sukesh Shetty for his upcoming project Peter, centered around the chenda melam. In order to portray his character authentically, Rajesh decided to learn the fundamentals of playing the chenda. After rigorous training for 15 days, he acquired the necessary skills to play the instrument. Additionally, Rajesh also underwent weight loss training to resemble a chenda artist. He emphasizes the importance of seamlessly integrating folk music into storytelling to deliver a fresh and captivating cinematic experience to the audience. Rajesh acknowledges the competitiveness of the film industry and the need to engage viewers effectively. Despite his success in films, Rajesh expresses his intention to continue acting on television as a stable source of income. He plans to consolidate his position in the movie industry before possibly shifting focus to one platform.
